URL-Rewriting

The content of webpages created by a Content Management System such as StandardWeb, is dynamically generated extracting information from database previously populated by editors.

This kind of software uses a particular technology that has to override some problems linked to the intrinsic structure of the web.

The end result is that to navigate between webpages, some websites create link like this:

www.example.com/thispage.html?id=231&cat=299&username=Alex

or worse like this:

www.example.com/@@@@123h12ejalkd021309alkj12oe89sd&0239898sd&dasòdlòk.

These kind of links are not really useful to human users and are also lacking of information for Search Engine.

StandardWeb, even if uses the same kind of technology, replaces the puzzling links as above with User friendly and Search Engine Friendly links like this:

www.standardweb.it/StandardWeb_in_the_wild--ReadArticle_Implantologia_Italiana___Website.aspx#Main_Content

Yes, it's not really a short URL (link), but if you read it you can surely imagine what you will find at your arrive.

As you can understand the meaning of this URL, a Search Engine can do the same and can better index the webpage and its content.
